The purpose of the camp is to acquaint West Virginia youth with the economic and social importance of our natural resources: To create a desire to use these resources wisely, and to train them for leadership in conservation.

Subjects emphasized each year are: Forest products, park and forest recreation, wildlife management and trapping, forest management, forest protection, fish management, water resources, law enforcement, nature study, soil and water conservation, nonrenewable resources and youth conservation.

Assembly, vespers and campfire programs, archery, firearms safety, swimming and other special
activities are included in each year's program.
